Malala Yousafzai – a girl stands up for school education

Malala Yousafzai is a girl from Pakistan who stands up for school education for all kids. For this reason, taliban shot her to the head – she survived. Now she is even stronger and has delivered a speech at the UN on her 16th birthday. She addressed, amongst all, Ban Ki Moon, General-Secretary of the UN, Gordon Brown, Special Envoy for global education and 1000 young people from 100 countries. She demanded to make it possible to all children to attend a school – no matter of background, colour of skin or sex. In Namibia, 7% of the girls and 10% of the boys do not go to school (UN, 2011). The Ministry of Education is about to change for example by freeing primary school children from tuition fees. But still, there is development potential.
